Over seventy five years ago, a group of Baptist pastors saw the need for such an institute and classes began on September 15, 1942. In 1946, a day school was added so students could earn a Master Bible Diploma as well as an approved Th. B degree. During the summer of 1953, the day school moved to the campus of Cedarville College.
Since 1955, Nottingham Baptist Church has served as our home. We continue to provide quality instruction to believers so that the body of Christ may be edified and the Lord glorified.
Alumni of BBI serve the Lord Jesus Christ in pastorates, the mission field (both foreign and domestic) and in local churches. It is our prayer that the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland will continue to teach the unsearchable riches of
Christ until He comes again!
It is our privilege to educate our students in the wide spectrum of Scriptural based ministry opportunities. God uses men and women in His harvest field.
Because Baptist Bible Institute primarily exists for the purpose of preparing students to serve in local churches, the school holds to the following position regarding local church leadership.
In the role of pastor, elder, bishop, minister, overseer, or similar title, Scripture teaches male leadership. The specification of “man” is recorded in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
While women have filled important roles in the church through a variety of opportunities, Scripture is clear that the two offices (pastor and deacon) in the local church are reserved for male leadership.
God instituted the family for the well being of mankind and designed it to be a unit of order and blessing. He intends for marriage to consist of one husband and one wife living in a lifelong, heterosexual union.
The husband is to be the head of the home and together with his wife has the responsibility to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:22-6:4).
We believe that the act of homosexuality is sin and an abomination to God, and that redemption as well as strength for victory over this sin is available from God for the repentant sinner.
BBI has a dedicated administrative staff and faculty committed to providing sound Biblical instruction.
